Dr. Steve Taylor Talks to
Parents & Teens
Town Hall Meeting
Tuesday, April 7, 2015
Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church
Help the Hills is pleased to present Dr. Steve Taylor, Addiction and Recovery Expert and Medical Director of the Player Assistance Program of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
For the past 19 years, Dr. Steve has worked as a licensed, board certified general, child/adolescent, and addiction psychiatrist. He is also certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine as a specialist in Addiction Medicine, and has focused his considerable training and expertise, both as a private practitioner and as an educator/presenter, on the specialized care of adolescents and young adults with drug and alcohol abuse and addiction illnesses and general psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Steve’s presentation will be followed by simultaneous breakout sessions: one for parents and one for teens. Dr. Steve will answer parents’ questions and a special teen panel will answer questions from teens.
Help the Hills was formed in an effort to foster open dialogue with parents, educators, and community leaders. Parents are the first line of defense in educating young people and Help the Hills hopes to provide information, tips, and strategies to help parents have those necessary conversations.
