Nomination & Selection Process

Each year, Leadership Vestavia Hills accepts nominations for candidates to its leadership program. Current class members and alumni of the program are encouraged to nominate individuals who have exhibited leadership qualities and have shown a genuine concern for enhancing the quality of life in the Vestavia Hills and the Greater Birmingham communities. In addition, Leadership Vestavia Hills invites other community organizations to nominate individuals as candidates for the program.

Multiple nominations are encouraged. Please give as much information about the nominee as possible and inform the individual of the nomination. The Leadership Vestavia Hills Selection Committee will contact the nominees and request that each candidate submit an application for the program. Subsequent to a review of the submitted applications, the Selection Committee members compile a list of approximately 20 candidates to present to the Board of Directors of Leadership Vestavia Hills for approval.

Participants of LVH are expected to attend all scheduled classes (8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.) from September, 2017, to April, 2018; miss no more than one class day; and complete a group project
on the final day in order to graduate.

Upon receipt of the nomination form, Leadership Vestavia Hills will retain the form in our files until the Selection Committee begins processing nominations to distribute applications. Nominations are being accepted for the 2017 – 2018 class year. Applications for the 2017-2018 Class of LVH will be accepted March 1, 2017, through March 31, 2017.
