Class of 2022 Project Presentations & Graduation

Congratulations to the Class of 2022 on a successful Project Presentation and LVH Graduation! Because of COVID, this class has officially been with us for two years. They were all very accommodating and patient as we delayed class an entire year and altered schedules to ensure the safety of everyone. We are extremely grateful to Shannon Stewart, Clabe Dobbs and the entire LVH Board for their support and flexibility during this time.

The class project presentations were outstanding as each class continues to assist key stakeholders in the Vestavia Hills community by providing assistance and research and offering feedback on ways to improve various aspects of our city.

This year’s class projects included:

  • Fighting Hunger in Vestavia Hills – The project team partnered with VHEE and VHDR to conduct food drives for the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church food pantry in celebration of the 100th day of school. The team also conducted a canned food drive during Wing Ding.
  • The 25th Anniversary of Leadership Vestavia Hills – The project team researched and presented the city with legacy outcomes of LVH, the alumni network throughout the community and all the projects created that continue to foster the quality of life that the City of Vestavia Hills is known for.
  • Vestavia Hills Senior Programming Marketing Assistance – The project team worked closely with Sandi Wilson on developing and expanding the city’s current database of contacts for residents aged 55+. A survey was developed and a distribution plan was created for how new contact information could be both gathered and consolidated in one place to aid in future communication to VH “Prime Timers.”
  • Video Project 5.0: “Vestavia Hills Parks & Recreation” – The project team completed the fifth and final installment of the LVH class-produced video series featuring the five pillars of Vestavia Hills. Their video included interviews with city and community leaders, as well as highlighted local parks and rec users. The 11-minute video included dynamic visuals of walking and biking trails, a variety of sports, play spaces and parks, and shined a spotlight on the redeveloped Wald Park, Miracle League Field, Aquatic Complex, New Merkle House, Altadena Valley Park expansion, and the brand new VH Civic Center.

Welcome Class of 2023!
